OUR STORY
2nd Generation Family-Owned
Originally known as Carver Farm, Michael Spiak grew up on this historic, bucolic farm. Years later, he followed his dream and planted the vineyards. In 2016, with his wife Kelly, and two daughters, Jess and Sam, he moved into the original farm house, continuing on tradition, yet carving their own path.
ABOUT FOSSIL STONE
In 1802, Elihu Wing settled a 140-acre farm in Greenfield NY raising horses. Today, this historic farm still stands as evidence of the hard work and persistence of our courageous forefathers. In the spirit of preservation, its current owners, Michael and Kelly Spiak still farm those very fields. Although horses still remain, a new crop has risen from the loamy soil, grapes! After years of traveling and visiting vineyards all over the world, Michael has discovered a passion for growing grapes. The inspiration for our name comes from stone turned from the fields containing fossils left behind by Blue Green Algae. We will continue to grow and write new pages in the history books of this Place Just Right.
